A 29-year-old man extradited from Queensland to Port Augusta charged with alleged sex offences, will remain in custody.
Queensland Police arrested the man last Wednesday, near Maroochydore, acting on an arrest warrant issued in South Australia.
Far North CIB (Criminal Investigation Branch) detectives accompanied the man during an extradition from Queensland to Port Augusta on Friday.
He was arrested and charged with unlawful sexual intercourse, persistent exploitation of a child and procuring a child to commit an indecent act.
It is alleged the offending occurred between 2007 and 2010.
He appeared in the Port Augusta Magistrates Court on Monday after being refused bail.
The man’s lawyer did not apply for bail but indicated a bail application would be prepared in coming weeks.
He has been remanded in custody until April 19 when he will re-appear in the Port Augusta Magistrates Court.
A court suppression order has been issued on the man’s identity.
