West Augusta continue to search for that all elusive second spot on the ladder, and after months of chasing it, they finally took it when they squeezed past a rapidly improving Central/Stirling outfit.
The Hawks, desperate for the second chance in finals, were worked over by the Tigers, as an impressive Jack Reid and Tim Manning put some runs on in a hurry to give the Hawks a well deserved fright.
Batting first, West Augusta got off to a woeful start, with Tom McInerney and Josh Earle falling victim to a lethal first over from opening quick Tim Manning.
Manning utilised the infamous Chinnery Park bounce to keep his opponents on their toes, and in the meantime do the job for his side.
After surviving Manning’s opening spell, Joe Packard was fairly chuffed with his efforts, and looking to cash in on a tempting Ryan Kuerschner donkey lob, he was caught after popping the ball straight up into the air.
