The last round of the season saw teams come up against each other for the first time, due to previous rounds being cancelled.
The two Saints teams battled it out in the first game with both pitchers dominating keeping the batters and scores at bay.
Textbook fielding from both short stops Bianca Broadwood and Karli Penglase made for quick changes of innings.
With only two runs in it Saints Devils took charge in the final innings with the bat, getting a five-run lead, to see them hold it to win the game.
The second game of the night had Stealers needing to win to put Eagles out of fourth position to secure a spot in the finals.
Angels got out to a good start with Dianne Ayris power hitting to assist Angels getting runs on the board.
Rebecca Goode pitched consistently well and batted safely all night to help secure a comfortable win, 20-2, and cement their place in the finals.
The first semi final will be held at 7pm this Friday and will see, third-placed Saints Red up against fourth-placed Stealers.
With influential pitcher and season stand out Kate Press unavailable, Millie Riddle will step up to the mound against the reliable Rebecca Goode.
Saints Red has a superb fielding side with game winners Karli Penglase controlling the infield and Skye Graham dominating in outfield.
They will have to be on top of the Stealers’ strength batters Erin Pascoe, Casey Struck and Ty Harrison, who are also quick on their feet.
The main event of the night will be the second game seeing the dominating force all year, Cherokees up against the underdogs Saints Devils, with the season score tallies being 2-1 Cherokees’ way.
Cherokees batting force Ceri Nicholson, Fee Berry and Mandy Nance will keep Saints Devils’ speedy outfielders Emily Leahy and Marcus Drummond on their toes.
With a spot in the grand final up for grabs we should see aggressive batting and fielding from both teams and the game go the whole seven innings.
All in all it looks to be an exciting finals series for Port Augusta Softball. Good luck to all teams participating.
