From straight kickers to wandering rovers, many were recognised at Port Augusta Football League's big night this week.
Friends, families and peers remembered their mates and shared stories and memories at the league's Hall of Fame dinner on Monday night.
Stats were recited and accolades announced, but one theme shone through: passion.
This year's inductees have shown a passion for and commitment to their sport, clubs and league beyond all expectations.
League Hall of Fame chairman and inaugural inductee Dale McMullan said this year's event had been the biggest yet.
"It's getting more interest every year," McMullan said.
The league's Hall of Fame was first introduced in 2003 - the jubilee year for the Spencer Gulf League.
The Hall of Fame was initiated to recognise the greats of Port Augusta's players, which McMullan said they were not getting in their clubs or the league.
It was not held in 2004, but since then it has been an annual event, and McMullan said the league was looking forward to it continuing to get better every year.
About 250 supporters turned out to catch up with old friends and share the honour of the nine inductees.
Each of the Port Augusta football clubs nominated members to be inducted.
This year's inductees were: Ray Hooper, Les Kittel, Ken (Wiggy) Mitchell, Spencer (Jack) Dighton, Jack Fullerton, Robert Hogg, Deane Adams, Mick Foote and Gary Kernahan.
At the presentations, life membership of the league was awarded to David Williams and Harry Waterworth.
Nathan Lawrence from Central Augusta was awarded the Dyason Medal for the Reserve Grade.
Jake Lee was presented with the Bishop Medal for the Best and Fairest in the Under 18 league.
The Transcontinental medal went to Matt Keatley for his third year running.
The presentation evening also included the announcement and medal presentations for this year's Port Augusta Team of the Year.
