Time to get the water flowing
Now that the ETS has been put on hold, it is hoped that Senator Penny Wong will get serious with NSW, QLD and Victoria and make sure we get our fair share of River Murray water.
If diplomacy fails she could always speak nicely to the curator of the National War Museum in Canberra and borrow the Lancaster Bomber G for George.
She could then contact the descendants of Doctor Barns Wallis who have probably got a couple of bouncing bomb souvenirs gathering dust in their attics.
Further, she could contact the descendants of Wing Commander Guy Gibson VC, Australian pilots Mickey Martin and Dave Shannon and bomb aimer Bob Hay and they could then emulate the deeds of their illustrious ancestors who on the night of May 16, 1943, destroyed the Mohne, Eder and Sorpe Dams in the Ruhr Valley.
That way we could end up with plenty of water.
Ok, it’s fanciful thinking but so is some of the garbage that is happening at the moment.
It time to finish with enquiries and get the water flowing especially now in the cooler weather when evaporation will be at a minimum.
What we need are few people like Barn Wallis, Guy Gibson Mickey Martin, Dave Shannon and Bob Hay in our Federal Parliament then we may get something done.
