Div 1 – Travellers Rest Gunners 9 d PABC Dynamite 6: Gunners produced an even team effort, winning 3 sets by 3 frames to 2 in their win over Dynamite. Anthony Grantham was star of the show, winning 3 frames, with Scott Mackinlay and Dave Allport winning 2 from 3. Dynamite was best served by Brenton Schulz and Clay Weidenbach with 2 wins from 3 frames.
PABC Shooters 10 d South Bulldogs 5: After winning the 1st set by 4 frames to 1, Shooters maintained their advantage in the following 2 sets that they won by 3 frames to 2. All 5 players contributed to Shooters’ victory, with Dave Stirling and Mick Freeman both winning their 3 frames and Ian Long winning 2 from 3. Dewayne Pieters was the only multiple frame winner for Bulldogs with 2 wins from his 3 frames.
Flinders Sharks 10 d RSL Woftam 5: Sharks set up their victory with a comprehensive 4-1 lead after the first set and did not look back from there, winning the final 2 sets by 3 frames to 2. Tim Martlew and Dick Elliot each won their 3 frames, with James Little contributing 2 wins from his 3 frames. It was a different story for Woftam, who had 5 individual players winning 1 frame each. After 20 Rounds, PABC Shooters lead Flinders Sharks by percentage only, with both teams recording 13 wins. Similarly, Travellers Rest Gunners and PABC Dynamite are fighting for third place with 11 wins each and RSL Woftam a further 2 wins behind.
Div 2 – Flinders Ferals 10 d Central Red 5: After an even match for the first 2 sets, where scores were tied at 5 all, Centrals capitulated in the final set, losing all 5 frames. Ferals produced a fine team effort, with Brett Irvine winning his 3 frames, and Neville Karger, Bill Taylor and Timm Thompson winning 2 of their 3 frames. It was a different story for Centrals, with Kelvyn Rigden and Warren Grantham the only players to register multiple wins, each with 2 from 3.
Travellers Rest Blue 8 d Commonwealth Assassins 7: In probably their best effort for the season, Assassins were in with a great chance at the end of the 2nd set, when scores were tied at 5 all. However, they lost the next 3 frames and although winning the final 2 frames, the horse had bolted. All 6 players for Travellers contributed in their victory, with Shane Pistotnik winning his the 2 frames that he played, whilst Simon McNicol won 2 of his 3. Corey Merchant won the 2 frames that he played for Assassins, with Justin Knibbs and new recruit, Shawn Reid winning 2 of their 3.
Sky Tavern Honeyants won on forfeit from Straight Outta Progress: Honeyants continue to be the trend-setters in Div 2 with 17 wins, 2 abreast of Flinders Ferals on 15 wins. Despite the forfeit, Progress hold third place on the ladder with 11 wins. Central Red and Travellers Rest Blue are engaged in a struggle for a final four berth with 9 and 8 wins respectively.
