A Brush With Art 2017 | YOUR GUIDE

The iconic Flinders Ranges “A Brush With Art” trail returns again in 2017 with premium artwork on display across various locations.

The 2016 exhibition attracted more than 10,000 visitors. This multi venue month-long art exhibition has become established as an eagerly anticipated local arts event where you can take in the artwork and the iconic scenery simultaneously.

Most participants are local and look forward to the annual event to showcase their art works to a mass audience.

In 2017 there are 11 exhibitions across the Flinders Ranges, you will find exhibitions in Bangor, Blinman, Gladstone, Jamestown, Orroroo, Peterborough, Parachilna, Port Augusta, Port Pirie and Wilpena in the iconic Flinders Ranges, South Australia.

You will also find a workshop in Bangor with Judy Elliott-Maddison, to test your creative talent and express your artistic streak.

The “Artists of the Flinders Ranges” group is again proud to be part of the large exhibition.

“The Brush with Art event attracts visitors from across Australia many of them following the art trail it has created,” Lesley Slade, the group’s spokesperson said.

“Blinman has always benefited from this exhibition, over 2000 visitors annually pass through our exhibition. It has created a reason for travellers to visit and stay in the region.”

Georgie Sharp from the Platform Gallery in Port Augusta is enthusiastic about the exhibition.

“There is something intriguing about following a multi venue arts trail... people enjoy getting out and about. You can take your time over a month to travel to multiple locations to visually soak up the artwork alongside the iconic scenery,” she said.

The Brush with Art exhibition runs from September 9 to October 8 and the program features oil paintings, pastels, watercolour, woodwork, sculpture and photography. It’s a perfect trail to follow this spring.
