A collision at Miranda on the Augusta Highway has left police seeking further information. At approximately 7.15pm on November 8, a Ford sedan allegedly lost control while overtaking a road train, subsequently colliding with the prime mover. The sedan reportedly caught fire, quickly spreading to nearby shrubbery and causing a large grass fire. The driver fled the scene on foot and was later located at the Port Augusta Hospital where he was being treated for minor injuries. The driver of the road train was not injured. The 35-year-old Elizabeth East man was charged with driving in a dangerous manner and appeared in court. Police are seeking assistance from the person who dropped the driver off at the hospital.

Any motorists with dashcam footage of the silver Ford sedan or the incident specifically are also urged to contact police.
