Member of the Australian Youth Climate Coalition were in Port Augusta last week assisting Repower Port Augusta with collecting votes.
With help from some passionate students, Adelaide residents Ellie Parnell, Kelly Mackenzie and Paige Le Cornu joined the cause to help gain support for solar thermal technology to be built in Port Augusta.
The group collected about 130 votes during Port Augusta Secondary School’s 20 minute recess break.
“It was certainly what we hoped for,” Ms Mackenzie said.
