Repower Port Augusta presented the results of its community vote to energy minister Tom Koustantonis last week.
During his visit on Wednesday, Mr Koutsantonis met with members of the Repower Port Augusta committee and mayor Joy Baluch to discuss the city’s energy future.
The committee presented a report about its recent community vote, asking residents of Port Augusta to pick whether they’d prefer a solar thermal plant or a gas-fired power station built in the city.
Mr Koutsantonis is now currently in Nevada, US, where there is an operating concentrated solar thermal plant.
