Another exciting year of golf is set to commence with the Port Augusta Golf Club (PAGC) opening its 2017 season on Saturday, March 25.

The day will begin with a shotgun start at 12pm and all reports indicate that summer rains means the course is looking fantastic.

PAGC President Judy Burt is sponsoring the day and she hopes to see as many people as possible tee up.

There will be trophies for the men’s overall winner and ladies overall winner.

Those who joined as summer members are welcome to attend, and any social player who would like to play is also welcome.

A new initiative this year is to hold a “Learn to Play Golf” month.

Colleen Milne has offered to run this for one month, every Sunday beginning the April 2, at 1pm at the PAGC.

All equipment will be provided, as will tuition and Colleen said she would love to see groups of friends come along and learn together.

Also beginning on Sunday April 9, at 12.30pm, is the club’s Funday Sunday’s for members and guests.

And in good news for learners to golf, they’ll be very welcome to join this comp as they progress.

The PAGC is offering a reduced fee for new members that have not been a member of our club before.

This was introduced last year for the first time and was very popular.

An annual subscription gives you the right to play on the course at any time, and the right to play in any club competition.

For all inquiries make sure to contact the PAGC Clubhouse via phone (8642 2930).
