Caritas College students put their creative skills to the test for the Lions Club of Port Augusta’s poster competition.
Thirty students from three classes took part in the initiative, with this year’s theme being “The future of peace”.
Year five students Nakshatra Rajkumar and Ruby Hancock were the two students to win the competition and their entries will now go to Lions’ district convention in Adelaide with the winner from the convention progressing to the multiple district convention in Ballarat and then to the international convention in Las Vegas.
The local part of the wider Lions poster competition is facilitated by Barry Flynn, Shaun Davidson and Ivor Holberton. On the entry form for the competition, students were asked to provide a quote on peace.
Nakshatra said: “Peace is a form of art which brings together all the people from around the world to celebrate joy”. Ruby added: “A life without peace is a life wasted”.
Mr Flynn thanked Caritas College for being a supporter of the club and also thanked teachers Leigh O’Shaughnessy and Sam Carlin.
