Caritas College's Class of 2017 enjoys success

CARITAS College is celebrating the success of its Class of 2017, with all 38 students successfully completing their SACE.

Lara Beltrame top scored the school with an ATAR of 98.00, while Hannah Manning (97.35) achieved As in all five of her subjects and a merit in Child Studies.

Aimen Khan closely followed with an ATAR of 95.35 and a merit in Scientific Studies, with Quynh Nguyen (94.60) rounding out the list of students to score above 90.

In addition to the four students that achieved an ATAR over 90, Riley Foster (88.35), Sofie Brassel (87.40), Ruby Yates (86.95), Shania Henderson (85.15), Chad Hodshon (85.10), Holly Nayda (84.55) and Dylan Chapman (80.70) all scored above 80.

The Class of 2017 tied with the Class of 2016 in the percentage of students achieving an ATAR of 80 or higher, with both classes scoring 29 per cent. 

Outgoing Caritas College Principal Nichii Mardon praised the 2017 graduates.

“I wish to congratulate all students for their hard work and commitment to their education in this final year of formal schooling,” she said.

“Our results reflect the support and expertise of teaching staff, strong partnerships with families and the diligence of students.”

All students successfully completed the Research Project, while VET students achieved Certificates I, II and III in a number of subjects.

“I wish each of our graduates every success as they pursue post-school pathways,” Mrs Mardon said.
