After a week off, Spencer Gulf Football League action returns with some mouthwatering match-ups.

With just five minor rounds remaining, Central and West will need vast improvements in form if they wish to participate in finals.

South’s perfect record of 10 wins from 10 matches means they have already secured a top two finish and the treasured double chance.

Meanwhile, Pirie sides Solomontown, Port and PropRisdon are sandwiched between the Augusta sides.

BLOODS: Daniel Fisher has been a standout performer for Central in the 2018 SGL season and will be crucial in their push for a top four finish.

Kicking off Round 11 is a clash between Central and Sollies at Central Oval on Saturday.

Sollies have a four-point buffer between themselves and Port, and a win would give them a very good chance of finishing in the top two. Bloods, sitting just two points outside the top four, could spark a strong run home with a crucial victory.

On the same day, Port and Lions will face off in a blockbuster Pirie showdown. With just two points between them, both sides will be looking to consolidate their spot in finals.

Finally, ladder leaders South and cellar dwellers West do battle on Sunday. All indicators point towards an extremely one-sided victory for South, but the Hawks have shown signs of improvement in recent weeks.

West can still mathematically make finals, but they would need to start by doing what no other side has been able to do – beat South.

HAWKS: The leadership of captain Michael Curley is invaluable for West.
