Spring has sprung for flying doctor fundraiser

National Wattle Day - celebrating the first day of spring and all things Australian - was also the day of a Royal Flying Doctor fundraising event held at Australia’s Arid Land Botanic Garden in Port Augusta.

Typically of a spring day there was both sunshine and rain, but not enough rain to dampen the sunny spirit of all those who attended.

In the Herbarium Room, brightly decorated with wattle displays, laughter, chatter,  wattle-infused morning tea and a parade of spring fashions from Carol, of Uptown Girl Boutique, rounded off an enjoyable morning.

The Port Augusta RFDS Auxiliary raffle was also drawn with the first prize of an overnight getaway at the Prairie Hotel going to Lynne Ward of Port Augusta.

Second prize of an RFDS fire bucket went  to Dean Garvon, who has subsequently generously donated the prize back to the organisation.

The auxiliary wished to thank the  people who supported this event – in whatever capacity - and for the continued support of the RFDS.
