Local business Max Cranes has been announced as a finalist for the 2018 Regional Showcase and is now in the running to pick up the coveted Business Award.
The South Australian Regional Showcase provides an opportunity to celebrate and promote the achievements of individuals, groups and organisations that have made significant contributions to regional South Australia.
This year’s Regional Showcase, presented by Brand South Australia and supported by major partner Primary Industries and Regions SA, highlighted more than 100 regional success stories on Brand SA News.
Throughout August, more than 5500 people voted for their favourite success story and Max Cranes’ journey to acquiring the largest telescopic crane in the southern hemisphere has earned them a seat at the table.
Due to be operational in November, the Liebherr Telescopic 1200 tonne Mobile Crane will allow the region to better service the renewable energy sector, including the construction and maintenance of wind farms.
The project will also provide the opportunity to secure, train and up-skill experienced and qualified personnel required to operate the machinery.
Max Cranes follow in the footsteps of another iconic Far North business. Sundrop Farms in Port Augusta was the winner of the award last year.
Max Cranes Commercial Manager Sarah Joyce said the company was proud to be recognised alongside 14 other amazing finalists.
“We were really grateful that Brand SA wanted to do a story on the business especially around our new 1200T All Terrain Crane that will be arriving in SA next month; which is something really special to us,” she said.
“This is Max Cranes first year of being a member of Brand SA and we have found them to be fantastic advocates for not only South Australian businesses but those businesses that are based and originated in the Regions.
“We are proud to be putting the Upper Spencer Gulf on the map as the home of the Largest All Terrain Crane in the Southern Hemisphere!”
Brand South Australia CEO Karen Raffen said this year’s program has once again highlighted success stories from around regional SA.
“The number of votes received shows that people are passionate about the great work happening in our regions,” she said.
“We look forward to celebrating the top 15 finalists, and announcing the People’s Choice, Business and Community Awards at the regional celebration evening in October.”
