Occupant assaulted after Port Augusta break-in

An occupant of a home was assaulted after a break-in in Port Augusta on Friday morning, November 9.

Residents of the home were woken by noises and a torch light coming from the spare room of their house just before 1:30am.

The home owner went to investigate the noise and was then allegedly assaulted by a male intruder, who then fled the premises.

The offender has been described as about 170-180cm tall, medium build. He was wearing a beanie, a beige coloured long-sleeve top and had his face covered.

Police arrived at the scene and discovered the victim’s car, an orange/copper-coloured 2012 Mitsubishi Outlander SUV with the SA registration S452ASJ, had been stolen.

Police searched the area but did not locate the stolen Mitsubishi.
