Police reported two separate incidents of drink driving on Wednesday night, January 23, with one man returning an alleged blood alcohol reading of 0.354 – more than seven times over the legal limit.
The 24-year-old Port Augusta man was stopped and breath-tested by police just after 5:30pm.
The unlicensed driver’s car has been impounded for 28 days.
At about 8pm, a 42-year-old Far North man was pulled over by police, returning an alleged blood alcohol reading of 0.205.
The learner driver was reported for drink driving and breaching his learner’s permit conditions.
His vehicle was also impounded for a 28 days.
Both men will appear in court at a later date.
Port Augusta Police will continue to target drivers who not only put themselves at risk, but also the lives of other road users by drink or drug driving.
