Two truck drivers were killed when their B-doubles collided on Augusta Highway in the early hours of Good Friday morning.
Just after 1am, on April 19, police and emergency services were called to the highway, about five kilometres south of Horrocks Pass Road at Miranda after reports of a head-on crash between two trucks.
Upon arrival police found two B-doubles had collided head on, with one truck bursting into flames.
Sadly, both drivers, a 31-year-old man from the Port Augusta area and a 35-year-old man from Campbelltown, died at the scene.
Major Crash Officers attended the scene and are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
The highway was temporarily closed for part of the day.
The deaths of the two men took the state's road toll to 38, compared to 22 at the same time last year.
