The man charged with the stabbing murder of an elderly man the state's far north has today appeared in the Port Augusta Magistrates Court.
Brian David McFarlane, 59, sat silently in handcuffs and made no application for bail.
He has been remanded in custody until a charge determination hearing in July next year.
The prosecution asked for time to review all statements and potential phone evidence.
Police were first alerted to the incident on Bartram Steet in Andamooka just before 1pm on Friday, November 8.
The 77-year-old victim was rushed to Roxby Hospital with stab wounds and died shortly after arrival.
McFarlane was also taken to the Roxby Hospital for medical treatment where he was later charged with murder.
Both men were known to each other.
