Port Augusta Tennis nominated a record number of seven junior teams in the 2020 Country Carnival Tennis Tournament.
The players took to the court at the Kensignton Gardens Tennis Club over five days, from January 9-13.
"This year we wanted to include as many children in the region as possible and it was a great opportunity have an additional seven children from Whyalla and Quorn clubs," Port Augusta Tennis' Angela Green said.
"A total of 29 children were involved in the team event. It was fantastic not just for the tennis but the social aspect for the players and the parents."
All teams competed well on lawn and hard courts against a variety of other SA regional areas.
An individual event followed the four day team carnival.
Some local kids had great wins including Alice Murphy and Victoria Cheesman in 12U doubles, Emily Murphy in 14U doubles and Heath Green in 16U doubles and singles. The juniors are looking forward to an upcoming combined competition day with Whyalla and a variety of regional tournaments throughout March.
