Assault leads to drugs and weapons bust in Port Pirie

A man has been arrested after drugs and weapons were found at his Port Pirie house yesterday.
Police will allege that about 4.30pm on Sunday 17 January, police were called to a house on on Three Chain Road in relation to a break-in and an assault.
On arrival police located a 46-year-old man with head and facial injuries.
He was taken to hospital for treatment, and his injuries are not considered to be life-threatening.
A 50-year-old Port Pirie man known to the victim was arrested near the premises.
A subsequent search of the suspect's home address located four unregistered and insecure gel blasters, a number of bongs, glass ice pipes, steroids, a small amount of methamphetamine and fantasy.
All items have been seized by police.
He was arrested for aggravated serious criminal trespass, assault causing harm, possess firearms without a licence and drug offences.
The suspect was refused bail and will appear in the Port Pirie Magistrates Court today.
